Onion Gravy

Serves: 4
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes

 1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon plain flour
250ml beef stock
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper

  1.  Melt butter in a pan over low heat and cook onions for 10–15 minutes until soft and golden.

  2. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

  3. Gradually add the stock, stirring constantly, then add Worcestershire sauce.

  4. Simmer for a few minutes until thickened. Season to taste.
